Beautiful Life!

Around our house it has been some what chaotic the past few weeks. You see, my family consists of my husband David (27), our son, Mason (18 months), daughter Payton (3 & 1/2 wks.), and myself, Brittany (22).
We welcomed Payton into our family the evening of December 21st, and needless to say we ALL are thrilled. However, I don't think I realized how hard it would be adjusting from a one child household to now having two children in the house. Giving baths and dressing two, and Also to now wake up with two in the middle of the night. Which is totally crazy in it's self, Mason has been sleeping through the night for some time now, but in just the past couple of weeks he feels the need to wake up as well. Sooo, needless to say, between the breast pumping and the kids waking up through the night (and tonight writing this blog) I don't get much sleep. But I have to say, I wouldn't trade all of this for anything in the world!
As a parent It amazes me to see Mason interact with his little sister. He is always amused to hear her little sounds. In fact, on our first car trip with the 4 of us Payton started to cry, and instantly Mason started to laugh. I knew then that we were all in for a real adventure!
Everyday Mason manages to surprise me with some new act of affection directed towards his "sis." While mom has to chase him around the house just to steal a kiss, he's always ready and willing to shower his little sis in kisses and hugs. I'm sure this won't always be the case, and it will be no time before the two of them are wrestling in the floor over toys and I'll be ready to pull out my hair, but for now Mason is eager to share all of his favorite toys.
In these moments of joy, laughter and yes even exhaustion, I find myself thanking God for blessing me with the privilege to be these two beautiful children's "moma" and for this beautiful life, and I pray that everyone is blessed with the joy of knowing a child's love.
